Karl Lagerfeld guest artist for Fendi Men, Interparfums increases its turnover, Jean-Paul Gaultier at the Fashion dinner for Sidaction and the other news of the day.
Karl Lagerfeld special guest for Fendi Men
After Hey Reilly, Instagram artist and logo hijacker for the autumn-winter 2018-2019 men’s collection, Sue Tilley, painter or John Booth, sculptor and illustrator, Silvia Fendi invites Karl Lagerfeld as guest artist of the autumn-winter 2019-2020 men’s collection.
The designer had fun infusing his signature style and revisiting Fendi’s emblem, through a wave of masculine silhouettes created by Silvia Fendi.
His personal touch can be found on bags bearing the designer’s effigy, punctuated by photographs, exclusive drawings and handwritten letters, but also through several models that reinterpret Karl Lagerfeld’s iconic silhouette. It can be noted that a look has been exclusively designed by the designer.
Interparfums sees turnover increase
Interparfums jumped 11% to nearly 40 euros in the first exchanges on the Paris Stock Exchange. And for good reason: given the excellent year-end activity driven by the dynamism of Coach fragrances, particularly in the United States. The group has revised upwards its annual objectives for 2018.
450 million, an increase of nearly 7% compared to 2017. In addition, the operating margin, which will be published on March 4, should reach 13.5% to 14%.
Last November, Interparfums reiterated its 2018 annual objectives with a turnover of just over 430 million euros and an operating margin of 13.5%.
“It is true that our growth was stronger than expected at the end of 2018, with revenues well above targets,” commented Philippe Benacin, Interparfums’ CEO. “This performance has led us to adjust our 2019 revenue target, now set at €470 million. ”
Jean-paul Gaultier commits to fight AIDS
On January 24, creator Jean-Paul Gaultier will preside over the 17th edition of the Fashion Dinner for Sidaction, which will bring together nearly 500 personalities and artists in Paris.
Intended to raise funds for research and patient support, this evening, organised since 2003 in partnership with the French Sewing Federation, raised 800,000 euros last year.
Scheduled at the end of the Parisian haute couture fashion shows, the 2019 Fashion Dinner will be co-chaired by Jean-Paul Gaultier, Line Renaud, Vice-President of Sidaction, and Françoise Barré-Sinoussi, Nobel Prize winner and co-discoverer of the AIDS virus, who succeeded Pierre Bergé as President of the association.
Sidaction 2019 will take place from 5 to 7 April with the relay of television and radio channels.
Cadillac unveils its electric SUV
Cadillac is finally getting into electric cars. The SUV (or crossover) was unveiled at the Detroit Motor Show in the United States.
Not much is known about this nameless Cadillac except for its exterior design, but it will also be based on the new BEV3 modular platform from General Motors, dedicated to the group’s future electrified models.
General Motors intends to offer a multitude of combinations with different battery capacities and engines (traction, propulsion and four-wheel drive).
The launch of this first electric SUV is scheduled for 2022. It should be quickly joined by other electric models. The manufacturer has stated that it wants to launch a new model every six months over the next two years.
