Last season, Texan Daniel Roseberry enchanted Paris with a subtle score – his first – which evoked both Elsa Schiaparelli’s shadow and his surrealist fashion while playing on modernity. A vision that did good for the house founded by Elsa Schiaparelli in 1927 – owned by Italian businessman Diego Della Valle since 2012 – and at Haute Couture in general.

At the opening of this Haute Couture week, Daniel Roseberry unrolled a score called “Double Fantaisie” which played on the surreal roots of the label at the same time as glamorous cuts, all against a background of Couture vocabulary.

Women with lacquered hair or pulled back, mostly wearing flat, appear in suits worn next to the skin, some rimmed with sequins or golden S, eye or padlock.

Others advance in evening dresses made with a sure hand which are stated sometimes in a flower woman spirit (voluntarily oversized flowers which rise as if by magic) or in a very glamorous genre (transparent dresses and close-fitting or skin-tight beige dresses like a second skin).

The accessories also play the surrealism card specific to the history of the label.
