Club Med sets foot in the Middle East

Club Med has announced its move into Oman in partnership with OMRAN Group, an executive entity of the Sultanate of Oman. The future Resort in Musandam, the first all-inclusive Club Med in the region, will offer a luxurious and authentic experience. This strategic initiative reflects Club Med’s commitment to diversifying its offering and contributing to the region’s promising tourism development.

15 years after its last project, Club Med returns to Oman with a major project in the Gulf region. On May 2, 2024, Club Med and OMRAN Group, the executive entity of the Sultanate of Oman in charge of tourism development, signed a management agreement designating Club Med as the operator of the future Club Med Resort in Musandam.

The future resort will be the first all-inclusive Club Med in the sultanate.

The project, financed to the tune of 90 million euros by a consortium led by OMRAN Group, will begin construction in 2026 for an opening in 2028.

“Club Med’s history and success are marked by its pioneering role, making a strong contribution to the development of the regions and areas where it has established a presence,” said Henri Giscard d’Estaing, Chairman of Club Med. “The Club Med Oman Musandam project is a key milestone, as it is our first Resort in the Gulf countries”.

Located in the north-east of the Arabian Peninsula, its proximity to Dubai airport, two hours away by road, and only five minutes by boat from Khasab, makes it accessible to international customers.

Luxury experience

Club Med currently operates in 40 countries across the globe, with a total of 68 Premium and Exclusive Collection Resorts. The company currently employs around 28,000 people, representing 110 different nationalities.

The future resort, labelled “Exclusive Collection”, the most upmarket product line in the Club Med portfolio, will provide 300 rooms.

“Designed for families and active couples, it will offer a wide range of sports and wellness activities, including childcare, to provide a unique experience combining high-end services and immersion in Omani culture,” says the trident brand.
