As part of Gucci‘s centenary celebrations, a new event has been added, this time in Florence, Italy, at the Palazzo della Mercanzia, the historic building that once housed the Gucci Museo, to discover the new concept created by the Italian label: welcome to Gucci Garden Archetypes!

The Gucci Garden, created by Alessandro Michele, Gucci’s creative director since 2015, has been around for several years now, but Michele has decided to make some changes. He has unveiled Gucci Garden Archetypes, an immersive multimedia experience within the Gucci Garden in Florence.

The exhibition features mythical arch builders, intergalactic explorers, horses, dancers, angels and aliens, creating a true experience in this exploration of creative director Alessandro Michele’s kaleidoscopic vision. With the pandemic, fashion brands thought of much more creative ways to retain, attract followers or even just share their designs with the means at hand.

This event presents a recreation of fifteen of the brand’s most influential advertising campaigns created by Michele during his six years at Gucci. The project looks at the multiple inspirations from the spheres of music, art, travel and pop culture that resonate in the Italian label’s campaigns.

“I thought it would be interesting to accompany people in these first six years of adventure, inviting them to cross the imaginary, the narrative, the unexpected, the glitter. So I created a playground of emotions that are the same as in the campaigns, because they are the most explicit journey in my imagery,” said Alessandro Michele.

From May 17th, a virtual tour of the Gucci Garden Archetypes exhibition is available to all interested parties for two weeks on Roblox, the online platform with which Gucci has partnered on various projects. Visitors will be able to explore a virtual gallery, winding through the labyrinthine rooms of the museum, film installations, giving an entertaining look at the designer’s unbridled imagination and bold narrative.

“At Gucci we opened the doors, we understood that the street is the new jet set and that we all share the power of beauty. We have made Gucci excessively eclectic because we live in an excessively eclectic reality. The brand has just soaked it all up,” revealed the firm’s creative director.
