Armani reinvents its shows in the presence of the public

 

Due to the pandemic, all fashion shows were forced to take place virtually. A period that seems to be slowly coming to an end, as brands are announcing the return of their public fashion shows. This is the case of Armani, which announced the news on Thursday May 20th, in the case of the presentation of its next men’s spring-summer 2022 collection, on the 21st of June in Milan.

 

The return of the public to the shows

 

The Italian fashion house, the first to give up physical shows at the start of the pandemic in February 2020, will be able to resume its catwalk shows with the return of the public from June. Giorgio Armani, which has been producing protective suits for medical staff in its usually luxury factories, explained the decision at the time as a result of the Italian government’s health measures in response to the rapid spread of Covid-19 cases in the north of the country in early 2020.

 

Fashion shows in line with distancing rules

 

The organisation of the physical shows “will comply with the rules of distancing and security required by law”, promises Armani. However, their holding is subject to “the evolution of the pandemic”. The first show to inaugurate the return of the spectators will take place in Milan, as part of Fashion Week on the 21st of June, to present the men’s spring-summer 2022 collection.

 

Giorgio Armani will then follow up with Haute Couture Week on the 6th of July in Paris at the Italian Embassy, just days before the designer’s 87th birthday.
