Porsche has joined forces with Kasing Lung, creator of the cult character Labubu, to produce a hybrid work combining automotive design and graphic fantasy.
This unusual collaboration between the father of Labubu and the car manufacturer aimed to celebrate both the 60th anniversary of the Porsche 911 Targa and ten years of “The Monsters” universe created by the artist.
An unexpected alliance
On the one hand, Kasing Lung‘s universe is characterized by mischievous creatures that look like monsters. On the other hand, since 1965, the 911 Targa has embodied the bold vision of the sports car. This is why this collaboration between two parallel worlds remains surprising, to say the least, but no less effective.
Surprisingly, by associating King Mon with the Targa, the collaboration shows that the character’s values resonate perfectly with the soul of the car. The art car presented in Dubai was a visible illustration of this : a 911 Targa (type 992) dressed in a livery inspired by Kasing Lung’s imagination, with a life-size representation of the character on board.
