Nike x Tiffany’s & Co : the collab’ finally unveiled !

Many rumors surrounded the announcement of the collaboration between the Nike brand and the jewelry house Tiffany & Co. Now unveiled, the result is a sober and elegant pair, far from the flashy luxury that some expected.

The euphoria was immediate. The announcement of the collaboration between Nike and Tiffany & Co late last week had generated strong reactions. It must be said that after collaborating with Louis Vuitton and Dior, the alliance with Tiffany, the subsidiary of the Lvmh group, was very expected by sneaker lovers.

The two giants put an end to the suspense by unveiling on January 31 visuals of their collaboration. The result? A sober and refined pair, in black suede of “high quality”, struck with the traditional comma in turquoise blue. Matching the pair, a small co-branded sterling silver plaque is applied above each heel. The new pair is accompanied by other accessories : a whistle, a shoehorn, a shoe brush, all in silver, as well as a dubrae, the label that adorns the laces.

The collaboration honors the iconic Air Force 1 which celebrates its 40th anniversary this year. It is called “Nike x Tiffany & Co Air Force 1 1837”, in reference to the year of installation of the jewelry house in New York.

Streetwear spirit

Alexandre Arnault, the young CEO of Tiffany & Co, part of the LVMH group, is giving the jewelry house a more streetwear spirit. This is not to displease some lovers of luxury pieces. However, the collaboration unveiled has caused both great admiration for some and great disappointment for others.

Expecting a “legendary” pair, a fringe of the public did not fail to assert its disappointment on social networks. A more flashy pair was expected than the sober one finally proposed. As evidenced by its limited budget of $ 400, the equivalent of 370 euros.

The collaboration is set to launch on March 7 in a limited edition. It will be available physically in Tiffany & Co stores in New York and Soho, at select Nike retail partners in North America and on Nike’s SNKRS app.
