LVMH turns to an internal candidate: Yann Musquin takes the reins of the fragrance division

The luxury group announced Thursday the appointment of Yann Musquin as CEO of LVMH Fragrance Brands, replacing Romain Spitzer, who has left to join rival Kering. This promotion recognizes twenty years with the House spent at Dior, Louis Vuitton, and Givenchy, in a rapidly changing fragrance market.

Twenty Years with the Group, from Dior to Givenchy

Yann Musquin will assume his new role on August 3. He will report directly to Véronique Courtois, CEO of Parfums Christian Dior and LVMH’s beauty division – a sign of the strategic importance attached to this position within the group.

His career path exemplifies a classic internal trajectory in the French luxury sector: after starting his career at L’Oréal, he joined Parfums Christian Dior in 2008, where he rose through the ranks to become international marketing director in charge of fragrances. He then served as Director of Fragrances and Beauty at Louis Vuitton, before taking the helm of the Givenchy Parfums et Beauté brand in late 2024. This cross-functional experience – spanning marketing, brand management, and several of the group’s Houses – makes him a seasoned professional well-versed in both the codes of high-end perfumery and those of the mass market.
