Originally scheduled for 2028, Chaumet ultimately moved up the full acquisition of the Italian manufacturer B.M.C S.p.A. by two years.
A long-standing relationship. In both fashion and jewelry, a meticulously managed value chain can greatly facilitate the production of exceptional pieces. Just as Chanel did with its acquisition of the Charvet shirtmaker in early July, the jeweler Chaumet has just acquired B.M.C S.p.A., an Italian manufacturer based in Valenza, Piedmont.
The Paris-based company, part of the LVMH group, has moved up this acquisition by two years. It was initially scheduled for 2028. According to the manufacturer’s website, Chaumet had held a partial stake in the company since 2020.
Founded in 2001 by Carlo Massavelli and Maurizio Bozza, B.M.C S.p.A employs approximately 330 people, according to the manufacturer, which operates two production facilities. Its headquarters are located in Valenza, a key hub for Italian jewelry, while its second factory is based in Sesto Calende, northwest of Milan and more than 100 kilometers from Valenza.
Not an isolated case
In 2025, the company reported revenue of 65.11 million euros, up from 61.1 million the previous year, according to Fashion Network, representing an increase of approximately 6.6%.
According to the industry publication, this acquisition comes at a time when luxury brands are seeking to secure their supply chains and position themselves as major competitors.
Last March, the Kering Group announced that it had “finalized its initial 20% stake in Raselli Franco Group, one of Europe’s largest independent luxury jewelry manufacturers, for 115 million euros.” “In accordance with the announced terms, the agreement sets out a specific timeline for its full acquisition by 2032,” the giant added regarding the company, which is also based in Valenza.
Meanwhile, Luca de Meo, CEO of LVMH’s competitor, announced the creation of a division bringing together the conglomerate’s jewelry houses, named Kering Jewelry (Boucheron, Pomellato, DoDo, and Qeelin). This initiative is part of his mission to transform the luxury conglomerate.
