Kylian Mbappé becomes the new face of Oakley eyewear

After Dior, Hublot, Nike and EA Sports, it is now the turn of the Californian eyewear brand Oakley to choose PSG player Kylian Mbappé as its brand ambassador for several years.

In December 2021, we learned that Kylian Mbappé had become the new face of the famous Dior fragrance, Eau Sauvage, and would represent the creations of Dior’s artistic director of men’s collections, Kim Jones. Now it is the sports sunglasses brand Oakley that has signed the PSG player.

“At Oakley, we believe that athletes are measured not only by physical performance, speed or accuracy, but also by their heart, generosity and empathy. And that’s what Kylian represents to us: a remarkable person who understands his role beyond sport – to lead and to inspire future generations to believe in themselves and to be who they are,” says Caio Amato, Oakley’s International Marketing Director.

The journey of the young footballer, already a world champion, is the focus of the campaign, with archive footage of Kylian playing football. He becomes the new face of Kato eyewear, “a technological feat as it breaks the boundaries of sports performance” according to Oakley.

For this campaign, Oakley used its slogan “Be who you are” to show that anything is possible with courage, perseverance, hard work and confidence and that it is important to believe in your dreams, as Kylian Mbappé proved when he achieved his dream of becoming a football star.

On his Instagram account, Kylian Mbappé posted the campaign with the caption : “I identify with Oakley in many ways: the disruption, the spirit of innovation and the drive to create positive change.”
