For the first time, Dior will show its models in South Korea

Dior will present its first ever fashion show in Seoul to unveil the pre-fall 2022 collection in April. The fashion house has chosen the city’s famous women’s university, Ewha Womans University, as the venue for the show.
According to a report by Maeil Business Newspaper, Dior will stage its fashion show at the Ewha campus, one of the school’s most important buildings: “It is confirmed that Christian Dior will hold a fashion show at Ewha Womans University’s ECC campus later this month. This is the first time a fashion show by a global brand has been held on a campus in Korea. Christian Dior reportedly made this decision in consideration of the beauty of the ECC building and the need to strengthen its partnership with Ewha Womans University,” confirmed Maeil Business Newspaper.
After this fashion show, Dior wants to partner with Seoul Women’s University in Women@Dior. Founded in 2017, Women@Dior is an international mentorship and education programme aimed at coaching and helping young women around the world to thrive.

“This year, the House is forging powerful new ties with the Republic of Korea,” said Pietro Beccari, Dior’s Chairman and CEO, in a statement from the House.
This show in South Korea is also an opportunity for Dior to develop and promote its growth in the country, which has been growing steadily in recent years. Indeed, its sales have exploded from 63.7 billion won ($52.25 million) in 2017 to 328.5 billion won in 2020. As a reminder, in 2015, the House opened a flagship store in Seoul in the heart of the Cheongdam-dong district in Gangnam-gu.
