Two recent studies by the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) and Tourism Economics reveal the painful impact on tourism in the region of the current conflict between Israel, the United States, and Iran. According to one study, the image of security in the Gulf countries will be permanently affected, while the other estimates that tourism could recover quickly once hostilities cease.
$600 million (€517.27 million) per day!
This is the staggering amount of international visitor spending lost by tourism in the Middle East due to the Iran-Israel-US war, as estimated by the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) in a recently published study. The study was based on international visitor spending, which was expected to reach $207 billion in the region this year.

And yet, this amount does not include the consequences of the conflict on tourism in Asia as a whole, nor the loss of revenue from the cancellation of trips abroad by cautious tourists in 2026…
