Jean-Jacques Guével, CEO of Balmain since 2020, is leaving the Parisian House “to pursue other interests“.
The Balmain House announced in a press release the departure of its Chief Executive Officer, Jean-Jacques Guével. His decision comes following his desire to “pursue other interests”.
“Balmain is one of the oldest luxury houses in Paris, with a unique and rich heritage,” stated Mr. Guével in a statement. “It has been an incredible adventure leading this house over the past few years and preparing it for future growth.”
On its part, the house founded by Pierre Balmain didn’t fail to acknowledge the results of Jean-Jacques Guével by affirming that “under his leadership, the company has experienced significant growth and evolution.”
A graduate of HEC and Sciences Po Paris, the 57-year-old Frenchman held the position of CEO at Balmain since 2020. Prior to that, he built his career working for brands such as S.T. Dupont and Louis Vuitton. Jean-Jacques Guével notably worked for the fashion division of LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton before becoming the international director of Celine for eight years.
