Accor unveils its first Handwritten Collection hotel in the United States

The hotel giant Accor strengthens its Handwritten Collection portfolio. Focus on San Francisco where the group is launching the first establishment in the United States for the brand, which has mainly developed through the conversion of independent hotels.

The Accor Group continues its significant expansion along with that of its brands. As part of its Handwritten collection of properties, the hotel giant has just announced the upcoming opening of its first establishment in the United States. For this new venture, the French group has set its sights on the city of San Francisco and the Hotel Stratford.

Owned and operated by the San Francisco-based company Frame Ventures, the property charms with its European flair and its ideal location in the Union Square district, the city’s bustling hub hosting numerous hotels, department stores, as well as restaurants and nightlife spots.

Charming Establishment

Built in 1910, this boutique hotel has recently undergone multimillion-dollar renovations. With its sophisticated decor, the entire venue emphasizes charm and attention to detail. Boasting 94 rooms, the establishment offers a warm atmosphere starting from the lobby where woodwork blends with marble counters.

Under the impetus of Accor, the Hotel Stratford will soon feature a café/bar space named Navé. Designed by the San Francisco-based architecture and interior design firm MODO, this new charming venue is set to make its debut this summer.

The arrival of the first Handwritten Collection hotel in the United States strengthens our expansion strategy in the American continent: introducing brands and hotels that meet the needs and desires of today’s travelers,” said Abel Castro, Chief Development Officer Accor Americas – Premium, Midscale & Economy.

The establishment will become the third Accor hotel in the heart of the Californian city, joining two Fairmont addresses, one atop Nob Hill and the other at Ghirardelli Square.
