On December 2, the flamboyant fashion house will officially join the Prada group, which is also based in Milan but has a much more discreet DNA and is in much better financial health. Andrea Guerra, the group’s CEO, revealed to the Italian press how he envisions Versace’s second life.
On December 2, 2025, Versace will celebrate a double anniversary.
That of its creator, Gianni Versace, born on December 2, 1946, and tragically murdered in 1997 at the age of 50.
But also the first anniversary of the fashion house’s acquisition by the Prada group, which will officially take place on December 2, 2025. The acquisition of the flamboyant Italian fashion house with the Medusa logo by its compatriot with bohemian bourgeois DNA was announced last April for €1.25 billion paid to the previous owner, the American group Capri Holdings.
Bringing Versace back to success
Recently, Lorenzo Bertelli announced that he would take over as executive chairman of Versace as soon as the acquisition was finalized.
