Carlos Sainz Junior had to wait eight seasons and his 150th start in Formula 1 to join the long line of Grand Prix winners. Discover this young hopeful.
Carlos Sainz Junior is the son of Carlos Sainz, world rally champion. He had a destiny in the car. In 2001, when Fernando Alonso started his first season in F1, Carlos Sainz Junior was only six years old and already a fan of the driver.
At that time, Formula 1 was not yet a very popular sport in Spain, but Fernando’s results would soon excite the country, far beyond the province of Asturias. At the age of 11, Carlos Sainz Junior started to race in karting, but while other drivers had the weight of their family name, he also had the weight of his first name, which was known to everyone. He then distinguished himself by going to the circuit after karting. He won the Asia-Pacific KF3 championship before finishing second in the Spanish championship. In 2010 he is integrated into the Red Bull network, which will finance the rest of his career.
