With an increase of 17.3%, the CAC 40 recorded its best half-year performance since 2009, buoyed by the luxury giants and the recovery of cyclical stocks. In light of the latest data, which French groups have seen the strongest growth in 2021?
The first half of 2021 was marked by the economic recovery of the main global indices. The CAC 40 posted its strongest half-yearly growth with a 17.4% jump over the period, a peak not seen since the second half of 2009.
Of the 40 stocks in the CAC 40, only 7 declined in the first half of 2021, and only one experienced a double-digit decline: Atos. The French digital services company recorded the largest decline over this period (-31.4%), due to reservations expressed by Deloitte and Grant Thornton about some of its US subsidiaries.
