Tumi x Mclaren: the collab that celebrates the 60th anniversary of the car manufacturer

To celebrate its 60th anniversary, carmaker McLaren and luxury leather goods manufacturer Tumi today launched a new luggage collection. Unveiled in a short film, the collection is presented by the Formula 1 team’s star driver, Lando Norris.

 

60 years for McLaren, but the carmaker hasn’t aged a bit! International luggage and lifestyle brand Tumi has launched its Tumi x McLaren collection today. It celebrates the six decades of existence of motorsport team and luxury car manufacturer, McLaren.

 

Designed to meet the needs of travelers, the collection offers a range of limited edition travel items in McLaren’s signature color palette. Included are the Velocity backpack, the Aero International 4-wheel expandable carry-on and the Torque strap.

 

“This edition of luxury travel goods celebrates the passion of our founder, Bruce McLaren, his forward thinking and his desire to combine practical functionality with a modern design language”, said Goran Ozbolt, chief designer, McLaren Automotive.

 

The collection was unveiled in the latest installment of Tumi’s Spring 2023 campaign. Titled “Unpack Tomorrow”, it features McLaren Formula 1 driver Lando Norris.

 

 

This collection extends the partnership between the two brands in the areas of travel, lifestyle and luxury automobiles.

 

Prestigious guests

 

Launched in February, the “Unpack Tomorrow” campaign illustrates the importance of reliable travel products in a world full of unknowns. Hosted by director Todd Tourso, the campaign includes three short films throughout the season.

 

The “Unpack Tomorrow” campaign feature on Lando Norris follows that of Tumi’s other team members, soccer player Richarlison de Andrade and actress Reneé Rapp. The star driver, driving the McLaren Artura hybrid supercar, showcases the performance of his Tumi bag, which matches that of the car, and the success of the collection.

 

 

“We are thrilled to have collaborated on this collection with McLaren, which uses its famous papaya color and combines modern, lightweight materials to create luggage, bags and accessories that celebrate the brand’s 60th anniversary”, said Tumi creative director Victor Sanz. “Both brands are rooted in creating world-class performance luxury products, and have a true understanding of how technology and functionality coincide.”

 

In addition to the launch of the 60th anniversary collection, Tumi will intensify its partnership with McLaren in a global content series deployed at major Grand Prix events. This format will include multiple community engagements, participation of talented influencers and exclusive prize giveaways.

 

The new collection, officially launched today, is available in TUMI stores worldwide and on TUMI.com.
