The Saut Hermès is back in Paris this weekend!

The Saut Hermès, an international equestrian competition organized every year since 2009 in the spring by the will of the house Hermès, finally returns to Paris. This year, it will take place from 18th to 20th March in the Grand Palais Éphémère.
After two years without having happened due to the health crisis, the Saut Hermès returns to the heart of the capital this weekend. It has always taken place within the Grand Palais, but the 2022 edition will take place within the walls of the Grand Palais Éphémère designed by architect Jean-Michel Wilmotte (the Grand Palais being closed for renovations until spring 2024).

If it may seem surprising at first glance that a luxury leather goods company is organizing an equestrian competition, it is less surprising when one looks at the history of Hermès in a little more detail. Its founder, Thierry Hermès, opened in 1837 in Paris a shop specializing in saddlery and horse harness. And still today are sold by the house various riding facilities. Its history is therefore fundamentally linked to the equestrian universe.
What will be possible to see during the Saut Hermès?
During this competition, the 50 best riders in the world will compete in the international show jumping competition CSI 5*, the highest category of the classification of the French Riding Federation (FFE) and the International Equestrian Federation (FEI). It will also be possible to observe several «young international hopefuls under 25» sponsored by the riders of the CSI 5* circuit during the Talents Hermès events.
Finally, each end of the competition day will host the equestrian ballet imagined by the Alma Vaquera troupe, directed by Denis Marquès. Named L’âme et le geste, this ballet will take us to Andalusia, inspired by the doma vaquera, an equestrian discipline born in southern Spain more than 300 years ago.
Open and accessible to all ages, the Saut Hermès will organize outside the Grand Palais Éphémère several equestrian activities and other fun activities such as a pony baptism or a dressing workshop.
Head to the Grand Palais Éphémère, located in the heart of the Champ de Mars in the 7th district of Paris, on March 18th, 19th and 20th, to enjoy this elegant and impressive show!
