As part of a partnership established in 2024, the Accor Group and the Federation of Haute Couture and Fashion announced the launch of the “New Crafts Awards.” Four young designers were honored at the event.
With the aim of supporting young talent, the Accor hotel group and the Federation of Haute Couture and Fashion (FHCM) announced the launch of the first edition of the “New Crafts Awards.” As part of this initiative, they honored four young designers: Peet Dullaert from the Netherlands, the menswear duo Egon Lab, Julie de Libran, the designer behind the eponymous brand, and Kartik Research, founded by Indian fashion designer Kartik Kumra.
Before being selected, these up-and-coming designers responded to a creative brief from Swissôtel, one of the Accor Group’s premium brands. Peet Dullaert, the winner of this inaugural edition, secured a collaboration “focused on product design that will be developed in the coming months” for these luxury hotels.
He was also awarded a cash prize “to accelerate the development of his brand as well as the opportunity to stay at the group’s hotels.” Based in Paris, the 30-year-old has been at the helm of his label since 2012. However, it was in January 2024 that he made his debut at Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week as an official guest of the FHCM. He is now recognized for his elegant, fluid designs.
Other awards
For their part, the three other finalists will also receive support. “For 18 months, the winner and the three finalists will collaborate with Accor and its Swissôtel brand on various initiatives. For example, members of the ALL Accor loyalty program will be offered exclusive access to runway shows featuring these designers’ collections,” the hotel company announced.
These “New Crafts Awards” have also sparked enthusiasm from the head of the FHCM and Accor. This award is “a hub for new collaborative experiences that are as promising as they are stimulating, and we are delighted to announce its launch,” commented Pascal Morand, executive president of the fashion institution.
“By supporting creativity, heritage, and talent, we are doing more than just opening our doors: we are opening up new horizons,” added Jean-Jacques Morin, Deputy CEO of Accor.
