Chanel and Sup de Luxe will speak on May 7 at Luxe Pack New York during a panel organized by Luxus+ to celebrate 250 years of Franco-American friendship. This event also takes place just days before the opening of the “Hidden Treasures” exhibition organized in the U.S. capital by the Comité Colbert, the association dedicated to promoting French luxury. Once again serving as a media partner for Luxe Pack, the trade show dedicated to luxury packaging, Luxus+ will highlight the best of “Frenchness” for the occasion.
After Los Angeles in March, Shanghai in April, and before Paris in June and Monaco in September, Luxe Pack, the international trade show dedicated to luxury packaging, continues its annual tour with New York.
This new edition in the Big Apple promises once again to be rich in innovations and encounters, but above all, it takes on a whole new dimension this year thanks to its symbol, the Statue of Liberty.
Indeed, 2026 marks the 250th anniversary of U.S. independence and, at the same time, the 250th anniversary of Franco-American diplomatic relations.
On this occasion, two key figures in the French luxury sector will participate in a talk organized by Luxus Plus: Stéphane Blanchard, President of Chanel for the U.S. region and ambassador for the Comité Colbert, and Marta Marcheva, Executive Director of Sup de Luxe Paris.
Frenchness Forever
For this exceptional edition, Luxe Pack New York is rolling out the red carpet for the 250th anniversary of Franco-American relations, ahead of the“Hidden Treasures” exhibition organized at The Shed by the association representing French luxury, which will open on May 26, bringing with it some sixty luxury Houses and their American archives.
Among these fashion houses, how could we fail to mention Chanel, which, as early as 1920, flooded New York with its No. 5 perfume and, by 1930, had opened its first retail outlets in the United States, thereby establishing itself in American high society.
That is why, on May 7 at 2 p.m. (8 p.m. Paris time), founder and editor-in-chief Claire Domergue will lead a 40-minute panel discussion in English at the Javits Center conference center to discuss “Frenchness” (or the French spirit).
This “je-ne-sais-quoi,” as the Americans say—which, from Parisian style to the art of living, heritage, and craftsmanship, constitutes a cocktail of timeless cultural markers that continue to fascinate across the Atlantic.
But beyond this cultural and aesthetic aspect, “Frenchness” is also a certain idea of luxury, less ostentatious but more intellectual, refined, and rooted in heritage.
It rests on these five pillars: expertise, curated rarity, culture, and storytelling, not to mention timelessness and discretion.
These values are also shared by the educational approach of Sup de Luxe Paris, which trains future luxury professionals on an international scale.
Titled “The Best of Frenchness: How to Draw Inspiration from the French Luxury Brand Model Without Copying It”, the panel will feature Stéphane Blanchard, President of Chanel for the U.S. market, and Marta Marcheva, Executive Director of Sup de Luxe Paris.
This exceptional talk will take place at the heart of the Luxe Pack New York program, where 5,000 visitors are expected.
