Shiseido, the Japanese cosmetics giant, has called on one of the highest-paid actresses in Indian cinema to be its new brand ambassador. The first in the country for the Japanese group. An announcement in line with Shiseido’s growing interest in the dynamic and diverse Indian market.
Actress and model Tamannaah Bhatia, 33, from Mumbai (Bombay) is the first Indian face to be acquired by the Japanese beauty giant to represent the image of the Shiseido skincare range on the subcontinent.
This tie-up with the Bollywood star is the fruit of a partnership with Shiseido’s Indian distributor, Baccarose Perfumes & Beauty Products Pvt. Ltd.

Tamannaah Bhatia, known for her screen presence, reflects Shiseido’s values of elegance, innovation and individuality.
The actress has already appeared in 75 films in a career spanning just 18 years! She is also renowned for her innate fashion sense and on-screen dance routines.
As she explains in a recent Instagram post to her 23.7 million followers, Tamannaah Bhatia has thus “gone from damsel-in-distress roles to badass bouncer and intrepid investigator.”
She appears mainly in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi films.
This year, she starred in the biggest box office success in Indian cinema history, Jailer, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, alongside actor, producer and singer Rajinikanth. Released in August – in the middle of Independence Day week – the action film earned 395 million rupees ($4.7 million) on Indian soil and 590 million rupees ($7.08 million) worldwide.
Born into a family of diamond cutters, the actress is also one of the highest earners in Indian cinema, with an annual income of 12,000 rupees ($144,000), or 1,000 rupees per month ($12,000). In addition to the film industry, the actress also takes part in a number of commercials and performances that boost her income.
