Rugby: Breitling becomes sponsor of the Six Nations Tournament

Breitling has announced the signing of a partnership with Six Nations Rugby Limited to become the official timekeeper of the Six Nations Tournament.

The three-year agreement makes the luxury watchmaker the new official sponsor and timekeeper of the Men’s and Women’s Six Nations Rugby Tournaments, the Autumn Nation Series and the preparatory matches for the RWC 2023.

Our high-performance timepieces inspire the greatest feats by allowing people to live their passion with complete peace of mind. The essence of rugby is to overcome your fears and limits. This coincides perfectly with the values conveyed by Breitling watches,” says Georges Kern, Breitling CEO.

This partnership comes as no surprise, as Breitling and the Six Nations Tournament share the same mindset. Both founded within a year of each other, in 1884 for the watchmaker and 1883 for the rugby tournament, their main vision is excellence. They also have a philosophy based on teamwork, inclusiveness, integrity and creativity.

In order to strengthen its presence in the sporting world, Breitling welcomes as new ambassadors Englishman Kyle Sinckler, Scotsman Stuart Hogg, Welshman George North, Irishman Conor Murray, as well as former players Vincent Clerc and Martin Castrogiovanni. Former Wales captain and current presenter Sam Warburton will also join the “Breitling Squad“.

The partnership between Breitling and Six Nations Rugby is an extremely exciting moment for everyone involved. This partnership focuses on a major first: an official timekeeper will cover the women’s tournament and a new partnership will encompass all annual Six Nations Rugby competitions. All credit goes to the various federations that have made this possible, and to Breitling for their enthusiasm in all aspects of this partnership,” said Ben Morell, CEO of Six Nations Rugby.

The partnership will take effect tomorrow, 5th February 2022, with the start of the first men’s match of the Six Nations Tournament, and will run until 19th March. Thereafter, Breitling will continue its involvement with the Women’s Six Nations Rugby Tournament, from 26th March to 30th April.
