The Italian designer who revived the sleeping beauty Burberry has just invested, alongside shirt brand Turnbull & Asser, in the oldest English shoe brand. Roberto Menichetti will also be in charge of Tricker’s style, as he already is for Turnbull & Asser…
The best of English tradition combined with contemporary Italian design. A winning combination proven in the past by Roberto Menichetti at the helm of Burberry‘s style. And one that could bear interesting new fruit.
Tricker’s, the shoe manufacturer founded in 1829, making it the oldest in England, has just announced “the opening of a new chapter marked by strategic investment and new creative direction.”
Menichetti, shareholder and style director
Italian designer Roberto Menichetti and James Fayed, President of Turnbull & Asser (son of Ali Fayed, owner since 1986 of the “historic shirt maker on Jermyn Street,” itself founded in 1885, and nephew of the late Mohamed Al-Fayed, former owner of Harrods…) have just bought a majority stake (71% of shares) in Tricker’s, through their investment vehicle Blu Heartknot U.K. Ltd., from the brand’s long-time owners, the Barltrop family.
