The second part of the Sustainable Leather Forum, organised by the National Leather Council will be held at the Economic, Social and Environmental Council (EESC) in Paris on Monday 14 September 2020.
The purpose of the event is to invite people to reflect on good practices in the leather industry in terms of Corporate Social Responsibility, on a social, environmental and economic level.
Specialising in leather and fashion, the forum focuses on the preservation of know-how and natural resources, territorial anchoring, animal welfare, short circuits, respect for the value chain.
On the programme are various sessions: CSR and risk management in the leather industry sector, Raw hides and tanning: innovation and good practices, Circular economy in footwear and leather goods and Training, know-how, territories and attractiveness, CSR issues for the sector.
According to Yves Morin, chairman of the Sustainable Leather Forum’s organizing committee, companies in the sector – whether they are major luxury groups, SMEs or ETIs – have already integrated actions that are part of this approach. “The success of the first edition of this forum demonstrates the commitment of companies in the French leather industry, particularly those in the luxury sector, which are more involved than ever in these issues“, he explains.
Among the many guests expected during the event to come and debate are Marie-Claire Daveux, Director of Sustainable Development and International Institutional Affairs at Kering, but also Thierry Oriez, President of J.M.WESTON, and Anne Benady, Head of Environment and Circular Economy at the AFNOR group, will be among the many guests expected to attend.
The ticket office is open on the Sustainable Leather Forum website, the entrance fee is set at 90 euros.
