Paris Fashion Week: Instagram and Vanity Fair launch “Nouvelles Vagues” to showcase new fashion talents

For Paris Fashion Week, which runs from September 28th to October 6th, Instagram and Vanity Fair are joining forces to highlight the designers who make fashion lines move.
Throughout Fashion Week, Vanity Fair will reveal on its Instagram @vanityfairfrance account the backstage of the catwalks and will give the floor to inspiring designers who make the fashion of today and tomorrow, the “Nouvelles Vagues”.

Instagram accompanies and supports its talent pool
In recent years, fashion has been changing and evolving. A transformation that has accelerated with the health crisis that has been raging around the world for nearly 6 months.
More inclusive, more diverse and more digital, it has begun its transformation thanks to talented and astute designers, many of whom share their universe with their community on Instagram.
Through the different formats available on the platform (Reels, Story, IGTV, Feed), designers are sharing ever more creative and engaging content and are renewing the way they communicate and distribute their collections, sharing backstage, inspirations and news with the many fashion lovers on the platform.
Instagram wishes to reaffirm its support to these innovative designers and to continue its commitment to help small and medium sized fashion companies to shine on the platform.
Showing the richness and diversity of fashion
Starting this Monday, and for a period of nine days, 85 brands will present their new women’s collections during Paris Fashion Week.
But this season, only 19 brands will actually organize a fashion show, such as Chanel or Christian Dior and Louis Vuitton (LVMH Group), before a sparse public that is sparsely represented in the front row by the rules of social distancing. The other brands preferred presentations in smaller groups, or even on video.

With “Nouvelles Vagues”, Instagram and Vanity Fair are celebrating emerging designers during Fashion Week and aspire to make them even more visible at this unmissable event in the fashion world.
Thanks to this unprecedented digital fashion week, Instagram community members will be able to get inspired and discover new brands and trends through the expert eyes of Vanity Fair.
On the daily program: a capsule on IGTV in which Vanity Fair goes to meet a rising designer, a summary in Story of the Day and nuggets spotted on the catwalks and a presentation of a brand’s flagship pieces on Reels.
To close this exceptional week, Vanity Fair will celebrate Instagram’s 10th anniversary with the designers and great fashion figures who will imagine the next 10 years of fashion on Instagram.
Exclusive content that community members will be able to discover on the Instagram @vanityfairfrance account.
