Paris Fashion Week has just ended with the AZ Factory show in tribute to Alber Elbaz. The opportunity to review this fashion week so expected in the city of light.

Fashion Week ended yesterday with the tribute show to Alber Elbaz with AZ Factory at the Carreau du Temple, the opportunity to review the last Spring-Summer 2022 shows and the trends that emerge from it.

Back to the 90’s at Chanel

Chanel paraded this year in the ephemeral Grand Palais, escaping the rain. The decor recalls the shows of the 90s, the very theme of the show. Gold necklaces are worn in accumulation on designer swimsuits, black leather is quilted and the famous tweed is added with sequins. The suit is adorned with yellow, lilac but also pink. The Chanel N°5 compacts and bottles are worn as jewelry or minaudière and the logo is arranged in all-over on the outfits. A collection imagined by Virginie Viard who took over the torch since the death of Karl Lagerfeld in 2019.

The Simpsons at Balenciaga

Balenciaga has taken the gamble of having models and celebrities parade together on a red carpet installed in front of the Châtelet theater. A screen on the stage of the theater shows people posing for the photographers. Demna Gvasalia, artistic director of Balenciaga serves a very black parade with silhouettes on very diverse profiles as well as jackets, coats with huge shoulder pads.

The show ends with a mini-film of the Simpsons, in collaboration with the brand, caricature. The cartoon takes the codes of fashion and has fun with them. We see Anna Wintour who attends the fashion show of the Simpson family, dressed in Balenciaga.

Pop culture at Lanvin

Bruno Sialelli, artistic director of the house Lanvin since 2019 presents a show that takes the codes of the house. We find sublime colored dresses highlighting the female figure, enveloping and fluid materials but also outfits where Batman and Catwoman are invited libido-de.com. For men, we wear loose clothing inspired by the world of skateboarding.

Journey through time with Louis Vuitton

The house Louis Vuitton paraded at the Cour Carrée du Louvre, under monumental chandeliers. The silhouettes are a clever mix of past and present: basket dresses, sequined crinoline skirts, jeans mixed with a tailcoat. Nicolas Ghesquière takes us on a journey through time for a conquering and inspired Vuitton woman.

AZ Factory tribute show to Alber Elbaz

Entitled “Love brings Love“, the AZ Factory fashion show took place in an empty space painted in black, only lit by mobile projectors.

AZ Factory, which was launched by Alber Elbaz earlier this year, brought together 44 designers as a tribute to him, who passed away in April 2021. The show took place on the square of the Carreau du Temple and closed this fashion week in Paris. Opened by a speech by his longtime companion, Alex Koo, the show is the beautiful colors of the designer: fushia pink, jade green or deep blue. We recognize the touch of the designers who pay tribute to him: a giant pink dress for Balenciaga, a golden flowing dress by Burberry, a dress filled with hearts for Jean-Paul Gaultier or a strapless dress using the dress codes of Alber Elbaz (glasses, jacket, bow tie) for Rosie Assoulin.

The show ends with the 25 creations of the AZ Factory studio, in collaboration with Ariane to create a digital version of the silhouettes, as well as NFT for the guests. A rain of red hearts floods the room to mark the end of the show, a beautiful tribute to this fashion talent who left us this year.
