The month of Fashion Week continues, and Paris sees since Monday, September 27, many brands follow one another on the catwalk to present the spring-summer 2022 collections. It is no less than 80 physical events scheduled until October 5.

The excitement is high for this return of Paris Fashion Week, with a large majority of physical shows, as well as 17 digital presentations. European and American editors and buyers are also back for this event.

Playing games with Dior

On Monday, Fashion Week began with the house of Dior in a giant game of goose, the work of Italian artist Anna Paparatti. Maria Grazia Chiuri was inspired by the work of the designer who worked for Christian Dior from 1957 to 1989, Marc Bohan. He contributed to bring a more flexible, freer silhouette and to free the woman’s body. She adds a look at the sunny Italy of the 60s and the advent of nightclubs.

I wanted a collection that was in a playful mood, fashion should be a game, and it’s important to talk about it, especially after the past period. We rarely talk about the joyful role of fashion. This collection is based on the 1960s, a period when fashion was used to express one’s personality,” says the designer.

Strong woman at Saint-Laurent

At Saint-Laurent, the models paraded on the square of the Trocadero. Anthony Vaccarello presented his collection outdoors in front of an illuminated Eiffel Tower and a gigantic wall of spotlights. The female body is highlighted in tight lycra suits, slit dresses and jackets with large shoulder pads. “This collection is a desire for emancipation, to resume the thread of a subversive seduction, an essential word that tends to be silenced, “said the designer. The Saint-Laurent woman is a strong woman, perched on her high heels.

Paloma Picasso, daughter of Pablo Picasso and Françoise Gilot is the red thread of the collection. A figure of the art scene in the 80s and a jewelry designer, she inspired Yves Saint Laurent’s scandalous 1971 collection. We find her long silhouette, her black hair, her red lips and her jewelry in accumulation.

Party with Balmain

Balmain celebrated in style the 10th anniversary of Olivier Rousteing as artistic director. He organized a music festival on September 28 and 29 and presented his show at the close of the event. The collection had few colors, a lot of black and white, but also a revival of his last collections with embroidery, sexy cuts and shoulder pads.

Celebrities were invited to parade, including Naomi Campbell in a bronze crochet dress, Milla Jovovich in a low cut dress or Carla Bruni in a beaded dress.
