In the first quarter of 2020, the Off-White’s arrow face mask came in first place in fashion search platform Lyst’s latest report.

The current coronavirus pandemic in the world has changed the consumption of our societies. Wearing masks is becoming more widespread, as it will soon be mandatory in many everyday moments.

The Lyst Index, a quarterly ranking of the most popular brands and fashion items, reveals that mask research increased by 496% in the first half of 2020.

To achieve this result, Lyst analyzed the browsing and buying behaviors of more than 9 million consumers across 12,000 brands and online stores, taking into account Lyst and Google searches, conversion and sales rates, social network mentions, and engagement statistics over a three-month period. (from January to March 2020)

The Off-White face mask, signed by Virgil Abloh, is thus at the forefront of research and generates a frenzy of desirability, especially among millenials.

It is thus the subject of much speculation, and can sell for up to three times its price on resale sites.

The Off-White brand is therefore unsurprisingly the most popular brand at the beginning of the year, since it remains for the third consecutive quarter in first place in the ranking, ahead of Balenciaga (+1 place) and Nike (+9 places). Jacquemus is also making its debut in the standings and is in 15th position.
