After many fashion brands have already made a commitment, it is now the turn of the Spanish luxury ready-to-wear house Loewe to join the global fight against coronavirus. The program includes a donation of 100,000 masks to the Spanish Red Cross and fundraising for educational charities in Spain.
Hermès, Chanel, Gucci, Prada, etc. : major names in the textile industry have been stepping up solidarity operations for several weeks now.
Today, it is the Spanish luxury brand Loewe that announces that it is joining the global effort to fight against coronavirus.
In a joint statement, Loewe CEO Pascale Lepoivre and Artistic Director Jonathan Anderson announced that Loewe will donate 100,000 surgical masks to the Spanish Red Cross, “an institution at the forefront of the fight against the pandemic.”
Loewe also decided to manufacture non-surgical masks, particularly for its workers: “Aware that protective aids are extremely important in curbing pandemics, Loewe produces non-surgical masks at its Getafe plant. The masks are to be distributed to volunteers, Loewe employees and their families https://impotenzastop.it.”
The Spanish luxury house, which belongs to LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, has decided to also donate part of the proceeds from its upcoming capsule collection with Paula’s Ibiza to educational projects, starting with an initial donation of 500,000 euros.
Thus, for its fourth collection with Paula’s, the iconic brand from Ibiza that has been on the island since the 1970s, Loewe will donate 40 euros to the Plataforma de Infancia association for each product sold between May and August in Loewe stores and on its website (loewe.com).
The goal is to ensure a better future for children from socially vulnerable groups affected by COVID-19. “To achieve this, LOEWE is collaborating with Plataforma de Infancia – a Spanish alliance of social organizations that works to protect children’s and adolescents’ rights – to launch a series of educational programs this summer in Spain aiming to reduce inequality and school dropout“, said the brand.
Donating money to educational charities shows how important children are to the brand in these difficult times. “Joy in these troubled times means keeping a positive outlook. Children are joy and deserve joy.” said Pascale Lepoivre and Jonathan Anderson in a moving statement.
