Japan: Hermès reopens its renovated flagship in Sapporo

On October 26, 2023, Hermès inaugurated its completely renovated store in the Daimaru shopping mall in Sapporo, northern Japan. The initiative reaffirms Hermès’ presence in Japan, where it has 35 locations.

Hermès strengthens its position in the Land of the Rising Sun with the reopening of its outlet in Sapporo, the archipelago’s fifth largest city.

This renovated address is all the more strategic as it is currently the only physical boutique on Japan’s northernmost island, Hokkaido.

The city has made a name for itself with its snow festival, and aims to position itself for the 2034 Olympic Games.

The newly reopened Hermès boutique is located in the Daimaru shopping center. The renovation of this space was entrusted to RDAI, the architectural firm that has completed numerous projects for Hermès, including the mother boutique in Faubourg Saint Honoré and the Madison proto-flagship store in New York.

True to its values, the Parisian luxury House always takes care to honor its French roots while highlighting local artists.
