Jacob & Co. reveals the world’s first metaverse watch

Luxury jeweller and watch retailer Jacob & Co is launching the world’s first ever metaverse watch via its latest “Astronomica Metaverso” collection.
In partnership with UNXD, an NFT marketplace, Jacob & Co is unveiling a collection inspired by the planets of the solar system. The first three watches revealed are named Venus, Mars and Saturn, and will only be released as 30 separate NFTs.
But this is not a one-off for the brand: indeed, it first ventured into the NFT space in April 2021, launching an NFT timepiece : the SF24 Tourbillon, which sold for $100,000 at auction.
And as a surprise, owners can also use NFT watches as a membership card. This card gives the owner future digital, physical and experiential benefits. In addition, it also allows future purchasers to take part in future digital activities of Jacob & Co.
“Astronomia Metaverso asks watch enthusiasts and crypto-currency collectors to let their imagination run wild while enjoying the best of watchmaking craftsmanship and unlocking new experiences with the Jacob & Co brand,” Each NFT represents a uniquely designed piece of collectible digital art, with special digital and experiential privileges for the holders,” says Benjamin Arabov, CEO of Jacob & Co. “However, five of them also have the power to be exchanged for an original physical watch, while the other three have burst into multi-edition variants.”
