Hermès: Véronique Nichanian bows out

After 37 years at the helm of the men’s collections, the designer has decided to stage her 76th and final show for the saddler next January. The name of her successor is expected to be announced soon…

 

In terms of longevity, she rivaled (almost) Karl Lagerfeld, who spent 54 years as artistic director at Fendi and 36 years at Chanel.

 

With 37 years at the helm of Hermès’ men’s collections, Véronique Nichanian now belongs to another era: one in which it was possible to spend several decades designing collections for the same luxury fashion house.

 

A successor to be announced soon

 

Véronique Nichanian has just announced her upcoming departure in an exclusive interview with Le Figaro, a piece of news confirmed “with great emotion” by the saddle maker. The appointment of her successor is expected in the coming days.
