For the first time, the Swiss watchmaker Gerald Charles unveils to the public the Sarawak, a timepiece exclusively created for the royal family of Sarawak.
The watch brand Gerald Charles has decided to bring back to the forefront the predecessor of the Masterlink watch: the Sarawak. Launched in 2007 by Gérald Charles Genta, founder of the Swiss manufacture Gerald Charles, this timepiece with an asymmetrical integrated bracelet is finally revealed to the public.
Exclusively made for the royal family of Sarawak, a Malaysian state, the Sarawak watch is the result of Gerald Charles’ entire creative vision. This incredible and unique piece is estimated at more than one million euros.
Sarawak, a prestigious timepiece
Between 2000 and 2011, while Gérald Charles Genta was the chief designer of Gerald Charles, the House produced numerous custom and bespoke pieces under the direction of Giampaolo Ziviani, uncle of the current CEO Federico Ziviani.
Imagined more than 15 years ago, the Sarawak now presents the iconic codes of the House of Gerald Charles. The asymmetrical integrated bracelet and the smile of the dial at 6 o’clock are now signature elements of the models designed by the Swiss brand.
This exclusive timepiece, intended for the Malaysian royalty, had to be an example of luxury and craftsmanship. In total, more than 15 carats of precious stones were used. The bracelet and case are entirely paved with round diamonds and baguette rubies, the result of high-end gem-setting mastery that is now the signature of the House.
A lasting legacy
