Four Seasons Hotel Group is expanding its Italian portfolio with the iconic Hotel Danieli in Venice.
Leading luxury hotel company Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts and Gruppo Statuto, one of Italy’s leading hotel development companies, announce that Four Seasons will now take over management of the historic Hotel Danieli in Venice. After extensive renovations, the property will reopen as Hotel Danieli, Venezia, A Four Seasons Hotel in 2025.
Located in the Riva degli Schiavoni area of Venice, adjacent to St. Mark’s Square, the hotel consists of three buildings: the 14th century Palazzo Dandolo and two 19th century additions connected by bridges, Palazzo Casa Nuova and Palazzo Danieli Excelsior. The heritage of the Danieli Hotel is on display throughout the property, in beautifully preserved Venetian Gothic architecture, as well as through works of art and antiques from throughout the property’s history.
“Italy is a popular and important destination for luxury travelers, and we have been leveraging the strength of this market by enhancing our properties and adding new properties to our portfolio, many of them in collaboration with our long-time partners, Gruppo Statuto,” says Bart Carnahan, president, Global Business Development and Portfolio Management, Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts. “Together with Four Seasons, our properties in Milan and Taormina have been very successful, and Hotel Danieli will perfectly complement these world-class experiences unmatched in Italy,” adds Giuseppe Statuto, owner of Gruppo Statuto.
Hotel Danieli is one of the most luxurious hotels in Venice and is ideally located in the heart of the city, just steps away from St. Mark’s Square, the gondola rides along the canal and St. Mark’s Basilica.
The establishment will undergo extensive renovations before reopening, supervised by designer Pierre-Yves Rochon. Rochon has worked on several other historic Four Seasons properties in Europe, including Florence, Paris, Cap-Ferrat and Megève. During the renovation, the property will remain open with select services and amenities and will be operated and managed by Gruppo Statuto as The Hotel Danieli, Venezia.
