Hedi Slimane calls on Celine, his former employer, to turn the page on his world

Replaced at the end of 2024 by Michael Rider as creative director of Celine, Hedi Slimane has suggested that the LVMH subsidiary break with the creative and communication universe, particularly through black-and-white photography, that he himself had established. Is this friendly advice or a veiled threat in a seemingly very polite message?

The start of the new season coincides with the launch of numerous fashion and luxury campaigns.

But if the new Celine campaign is currently creating a buzz, it is less for itself than for the post just published on its Instagram account by Hedi Slimane, who was its successful artistic director between 2018 and October 2024. He has since been replaced in this role by the American Michael Rider.

The Slimane codes

In this new campaign, Celine is reviving the codes established during the successful era of Hedi Slimane, who has always combined fashion with photography and music.
