Four decades of watchmaking passion through “The OAK Collection” exhibition

Forty years of watchmaking passion will be revealed to the world through the exhibition “The OAK Collection”. The travelling exhibition will first be held from 19 to 25 May this year at the Design Museum in London, before going on a world tour.

“The OAK Collection” is an exhibition of one of the largest private collections of Patek Philippe timepieces in the world. This event is due in particular to a private collector.

For almost twenty years, this mostrophilist has been building his private collection of watch creations, which has been kept secret until now. Today, the collector wishes to unveil his incredible collection to the public. It is the largest collection of timepieces from the Geneva watchmaking company, after the Patek Philippe Museum.

“As I travelled all over the world on business, I was always looking for watches – but it was at a flea market in France 35 years ago that I think I got my best bargain. It was a steel Patek Philippe, reference 130 Sector, and when I saw it, I started to tremble.”, says the collector.

This is the very first time that such a historic private watchmaking event will be held anywhere in the world. Numerous personalities from the watchmaking industry will be present for the occasion.

The public will be able to discover more than a hundred of the world’s finest watches, unique and extremely rare pieces made to order by the collector or acquired at auction: from unique, limited edition and personalised contemporary models to rare, artisanal and vintage pieces from exceptional manufacturers such as Patek Philippe, Rolex, François-Paul Journe and Kari Voutilainen.

“The OAK Collection” will travel around the world in four major stages, from London to the Middle East, the Far East and North America. It will end in the United States with a closing gala.
