Etro announces the departure of Marco De Vincenzo

Having joined the company shortly after L Catterton acquired a stake in the Italian fashion and lifestyle house, Marco De Vincenzo is stepping down as creative director as a new group of investors has just purchased the founding family’s minority stake.

 

Etro continues its transformation.

 

Following the recent departure of the founding family from the company, after the sale of its minority stake (40%) to a group of investors, the Milan-based fashion and lifestyle house has just announced the departure of its creative director,Marco De Vincenzo.

 

“ “This decision, reached by mutual agreement, is part of a new strategic phase for the brand,” states the press release issued on March 12, noting that “during his tenure, Marco De Vincenzo led the brand’s creative direction, developing collections that interpreted and highlighted Etro’s signature codes, guiding the company through an important phase of growth and stylistic renewal” ..

 

Taking over from Veronica Etro

 

Arriving in June 2022, following the acquisition of a 60% stake by the L Catterton fund, Marco De Vincenzo had taken on a strategically significant role. Indeed, not only was he replacing Veronica Etro—the daughter of Gimmo Etro, who founded the brand in 1968—who had been in charge of designing the women’s collections since 2000, but he was also entrusted with an expanded scope of responsibility that included overseeing the men’s and home lines.
