Chopard has just inaugurated its first ever hotel, at Place Vendôme

On September 24, the Swiss jeweller inaugurated its first hotel at 1 Place Vendôme. The three-storey boutique hotel replaces the Hôtel Vendôme in Paris, which will be acquired in 2022 by the Scheufele family, owners of the Parisian House.

The leitmotif of this autumn’s season is hospitality, which is attracting more and more luxury brands. They are eager to extend their territory of expression and, above all, to embrace the quest for experience demanded by luxury clientele, especially the younger generation.

While Louis Vuitton has confirmed the hotel destination – a first for the luxury trunk-maker – of its latest real estate acquisition on the Champs-Elysées, Chopard has just opened the first of its hotels in the heart of Paris, Place Vendôme.

Chopard has chosen to open its first hotel concept in a private mansion on the corner of Place Vendôme and Faubourg Saint Honoré.

Discreetly named after its prestigious address, 1, Place Vendôme, where its historic boutique is located.

The building, built in 1723 by Pierre Perrin, underwent over a year of restoration work by renowned interior designer Pierre-Yves Rochon.

This subsidiary of the architectural firm Perkins & Will has already worked for such big names in the hotel industry as Four Seasons, Ritz-Carlton, Waldorf Astoria, Fairmont St Regis, Peninsula, Shangri-La, Sofitel and Intercontinental. On the brand side, he also renovated the Boucheron boutique and the Chopard boutique.

Work on the new Chopard hotel is estimated by the investigative media Glitz at 19 million euros.

In terms of materials, the interior features fine essences, bronze, brass and acid-aged mirrors.

The result is a 5-star boutique hotel with some 15 rooms, in other words, more intimate and exclusive than the Vendôme Hotel in Paris, located on the same site.

Olivia and Didier Le Calvez of Ré Management commented: “Le 1, Place Vendôme is committed to providing a precise, warm, authentic and bespoke service, harmoniously combining the sophistication of the Chopard brand and a luxury hotel with the gracious hospitality of a private home”.
