Chanel recently unveiled its latest watch creation, the Première Sound Watch. This limited edition harmoniously combines watchmaking, fine jewelry and technology.
Chanel once again pushes the boundaries of innovation.
The recently unveiled Première Sound Watch, designed by Arnaud Chastaing, director of the company’s watchmaking design studio, is a perfect example.
Presented in the form of a sautoir necklace, the watch incorporates an audio cable with a 3.5 mm jack plug, enabling it to be connected to a smartphone or any other audio device, offering modern, practical functionality. It represents a perfect alliance between watchmaking, fine jewelry and modern technology
It is not only a luxury accessory, but also a functional tool, illustrating Chanel’s ability to fuse tradition and innovation, integrating high-tech elements without distorting the timeless elegance of the luxury House.
Classic design and modern technology
The Première Sound Watch takes up Chanel’s emblematic aesthetic codes. The 26 mm octagonal case is inspired by the No. 5 perfume bottle stopper, while the supple strap evokes the chain of the Maison’s famous bags.
The necklace that supports the watch is a masterpiece in itself: a black leather audio cable intertwined with a stainless steel collar coveredin18-carat gold.
The matching earphones, designed in collaboration with Master & Dynamic, offer superior sound quality and feature a remote control for controlling music and taking calls. The earphones can also be detached, allowing the watch to be worn as a fashion accessory without the technology.
The watch’s dial is in black lacquer, surrounded by an 18-carat gold-coated steel crown, adorned with an onyx cabochon. This timepiece is equipped with a high-precision quartz movement and is water-resistant to 30 meters.
Limited availability
The Première Sound Watch stands out not only for its design, but also for its exclusivity.
Limited in number, this watch will first be available in an ephemeral pop-up at the Bon Marché Rive Gauche in Paris, from August 31 to October 2. The preview launch precedes worldwide distribution in selected Chanel boutiques from September 2.
The piece will retail for around 16,400 dollars (14,800 euros).
The launch of the Première Sound Watch is supported by a digital campaign featuring Lily-Rose Depp, daughter of Vanessa Paradis and Johnny Depp. The choice of the 25-year-old actress-singer-model and the Maison’s ambassador since 2015 as muse for this campaign reinforces the young, modern image that Chanel wishes to associate with the Première Sound Watch.
Also seen on Blackpink’s Jennie Kim, the accessory has already captured the attention of fashion enthusiasts and influencersaround the world, confirming its status as a must-have for the season.
By integrating this necklace watch into its collections, the Parisian fashion house demonstrates its ability to anticipate trends, meet the expectations of a demanding clientele and seduce high jewelry and technology lovers around the world, while preserving its heritage of timeless luxury.
