BMW has written a new chapter in its history by officially launching BMW Alpina, an independent and exclusive brand within the BMW Group, on January 1.
This new branch of the German manufacturer marks the transformation of a relationship that began in the 1960s into a new identity of its own…
A prestigious heritage under the BMW umbrella
The Alpina brand has its origins in 1965, when Burkard Bovensiepen founded a small company specializing in the tuning of BMW cars. Over the decades, Alpina has distinguished itself by transforming production models into exceptional vehicles.
Officially recognized as a car manufacturer in the 1980s, Alpina made a name for itself with iconic models such as the D3 Bi-Turbo, long considered one of the fastest production diesel sedans in the world.
