On Monday, the famous luxury watchmaker Audemars Piguet announced the appointment of Ilaria Resta as General Manager.

Luxury watchmaker Audemars Piguet announced Monday the appointment of Ilaria Resta as its new general manager. This news follows the announcement of her upcoming departure from DSM-Firmenich, the flavor and fragrance chemist.

Currently in charge of DSM-Firmenich’s fragrance and cosmetics segment, Ilaria Resta is the first and only woman to have held the position of president of the fragrance division among the industry’s major houses. Prior to joining Firmenich, she had more than 22 years of experience at Procter & Gamble.

“A visionary leader with a passion for craftsmanship, Ilaria Resta will lead Audemars Piguet into the future as we continue to develop our brand, merge tradition and innovation, and strengthen our direct connection with our customers”, said Alessandro Bogliolo, Chairman of the Board of Directors, on Monday when the appointment was announced.

Departure of François-Henry Bennahmias

Ilaria Resta will succeed François-Henry Bennahmias on January 1, 2024, as head of Audemars Piguet, as stated in a press release. But she will join the watch manufacturer located in Le Brassus in the Vallée de Joux as of next August.

François-Henry Bennahmias had made his first steps within the manufacture in 1994, before taking over as director in 2012. His departure was announced last June. He thus leaves the House after 30 years of service.

By becoming the new head of Audemars Piguet, Ilaria Resta will become one of the few women to hold an executive position within a renowned Swiss watch brand. Renowned for its Royal Oak collection, the Swiss manufacturer is one of the most sought-after luxury brands in the new and pre-owned watch market.
