Lacoste is taking advantage of the Cannes Film Festival to announce its first film co-production. The crocodile brand is supporting Chien 51, the upcoming film by Cédric Jimenez (Bac Nord, Novembre…), which is part crime thriller, part science fiction. The film will be a police investigation starring Adèle Exarchopoulos, set in a dystopian Paris in 2045, with a release date scheduled for October 15.
When the crocodile follows in the footsteps of Saint Laurent Productions…
Last year, the Parisian fashion house’s specialized subsidiary produced three films in competition at Cannes (Emilia Perez by Jacques Audiard, Parthenope by Paolo Sorrentino, and Les Linceuls by David Cronenberg).
This year, Lacoste is joining Chi-Fou-Mi Productions, Studiocanal, and Artémis Production to financially support Cédric Jimenez’s new film, Chien 51. In addition to a five-star cast, the film brings together the director of Amour Ouf, Gilles Lellouche, and his heroine and now ambassador for the crocodile brand, Adèle Exarchopoulos.
Stars and co-creation
While Lacoste is currently shining on Parisian street furniture and metro stations with its “Play With Icons” campaign, the Croisette recently hosted a special evening at Silencio. Involved in cinema through its ambassadors such as actor Pierre Niney, the crocodile brand invited the golden cast of Cédric Jimenez’s Chien 51, namely Gilles Lellouche, Valeria Bruni-Tedeschi, Louis Garrel, Artus, Stéphane Bak and, of course, Adèle Exarchopoulos.
