For the first time, Veuve Clicquot is offering its guests a rare opportunity to visit the Åland cellar as part of an unforgettable trip between Champagne and the Åland Islands next June.
A unique experience! From June 22 to 25, 2023, Veuve Clicquot is organizing a trip for a small group to discover its Åland cellar, immersed in the Baltic Sea. The three-night experience begins in Champagne, where guests will tour the House’s vineyards before being invited to a tasting in the cellars. After a VIP dinner and overnight stay at the Hotel du Marc, the group will sail to the Åland Islands aboard the schooner Albanus. The day-long trip includes gourmet meals prepared by Michelin-starred chef Filip Gemzell.
The next day, guests will start with sunrise fishing and breakfast in Silverskär. They will then travel to Klobben and Champagne Island for a tasting of bottles from the Åland Islands’ vault, hosted by Didier Mariotti, Veuve Clicquot’s cellar master. The trip will end with another dinner prepared by Chef Mathias Dahlgren and a final night at the Silverskär Hotel.
The most exciting part of the tour is undoubtedly the opportunity for experienced divers to descend into the underwater wine cellar with the diver who discovered the wreck in 2010 to see where the bottles are submerged.
“We are thrilled to offer our guests the opportunity to experience Veuve Clicquot’s 40 years between Champagne and the Baltic Sea for the first time. The latter offers an exceptional aging environment thanks to its low salinity and constant temperature, which guarantees exceptional wines“, said Jean-Marc Gallot, CEO of Veuve Clicquot.
