After conquering land, the ride-hailing leader is setting its sights on the seas with a European expansion strategy for boat rental services in partnership with the sharing platform Click&Boat.
“The easiest way to create unforgettable memories on the water”.
After ground transportation and food service, it’s the boating industry’s turn to accelerate its “Uberization”—that is, a purely digital (or asset-light) intermediary model where a platform facilitates connections between customers and owners.
And it is Uber Boat that is leading the charge alongside the European leader in boat rentals, Click&Boat. The latter offers 50,000 boats for rent from both private individuals and professionals on its app. The offering covers various types of vessels, from motorboats to sailboats, with or without a skipper.
Expected in mid-June 2026, the initiative currently covers 23 cities across 5 European markets, including France, notably in Cannes and Saint-Tropez.
Uber One members will receive 10% of the trip cost in the form of credits.
Vacation Destinations and Luxury Hubs
The announcement of Uber Boat came during the Go-Get 2026 event—Uber’s product launch event—in New York. Thus, the “Uberization” trend is now extending to boats and aims to capture the flow of vacationers to their favorite destinations.
