The traditional Tiffany & Co Advent calendar has some nice surprises in store again this year. It pays homage to creativity and to the city of New York, bringing together the spirit of Tiffany & Co and the work of one of New York’s greatest artists, Jean-Michel Basquiat.

This year, the Tiffany & Co Advent calendar features the work “Equals Pi”, paying tribute to one of the greatest American artists of the 20th century, Basquiat. This piece was already featured in the last Tiffany “About Love” campaign, embodied by the star couple, Beyoncé and Jay-Z.

The countdown to the festive season takes shape in a painting of the work “Equals Pi”, in the form of a 120 cm long white oak cabinet of curiosities. Once the mystery is solved, 24 “Blue Boxes” are revealed, filled with jewellery and objects from Tiffany & Co.

An avant-garde painter and pioneer of the underground movement, Basquiat enjoyed painting on everyday objects. His work “Equals Pi” represents equations, texts, sketches and expressive symbols.

Tiffany & Co has committed to donating a portion of the proceeds from the advent calendar to Free Arts NYC. The funds raised will be used to create several programmes to give children in New York City greater access to art.

The Tiffany & Co Advent calendar is available from 3 November and worldwide.
