American jeweler Tiffany & Co has appointed Hector Muelas as the brand’s new Creative Director. He announced his appointment in a LinkedIn post.
Barcelona-born Hector Muelas joins Tiffany & Co as the brand’s Creative Director from parent company LVMH. There, he had served as global vice president of content and creation from 2015 to 2019.
“I am pleased to announce that today I begin a new adventure as creative director of the Tiffany & Co. brand,” said Hector Muelas in a post on Linkedin was also an opportunity for him to recall the House’s great innovations and creative encounters in its 185-year history, such as “the world’s best diamonds and the design of the Great Seal of the United States, Warhol and Basquiat, Audrey Hepburn and the Medal of Honor, the Tiffany setting and the Vince Lombardi trophy, Picasso and Peretti, the French crown jewels and Beyoncé, modern gemology and Nike, art deco and art nouveau, Schlumberger and Kuntz, Rolex and Patek, the blue box and the white ribbon… “
Finally, he says he’s “very honored to be part of this iconic house and to continue building its legacy alongside old and new friends.”
Hector Muelas has over twenty years’ experience in brand and content functions acquired with companies in the luxury goods, technology and entertainment sectors.
His most recent position was that of Vice President of Global Marketing and Creative at the world leader in online travel booking, Expedia Group, held from June 2021 to September 2023.
In addition to the aforementioned LVMH Group, he has also held creative roles for its German luxury luggage brand Rimowa, for which he held the same type of responsibilities as his current appointment from mid-2017 to mid-2019.
