Style Theory, one of Southeast Asia’s most established fashion rental platforms, analysed user purchases to highlight the top five luxury homes and handbags that Singaporeans love.
In first place we find the French haute-couture house Chanel, which still remains one of the most popular brands in this country. Classic Chanel bags never disappoint, with their timelessness and fine craftsmanship.
“In general, people tend to look for timeless styles and colours for both our rental platform Style Theory and our resale platform Second Edit. [They] also tend to look for classic or ‘safe’ colours such as black followed by light brown and beige. These options are easier to style and generally match more wardrobe pieces,” said Style Theory COO and co-founder Raena Lim.
Dior is close behind Chanel in second place. The luxury house is particularly popular in this country thanks to its bag made in honour of Lady Diana, the Lady Dior.
Commenting on the ranking, Raena Lim said that since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, small handbags have been in much greater demand than large ones, justifying the ranking of Singapore’s favourite bags.
Louis Vuitton’s Empreinte clutch is the third most popular bag in Singapore.
It is followed by the Gucci GG Marmont Matelasse shoulder bags and finally the Kate bag by Saint Laurent.
In recent years, trends have focused on the revival of popular 90s styles such as half-moon shoulder bags and 70s shoulder bags with long straps, thus explaining this ranking of favourite luxury handbags in Singapore.
