The giant global fashion and luxury communications group founded in 2017 continues its acquisition spree with the acquisition of Atelier Athem, a French company founded on a novel business model combining advertising and culture.

 

The Independents, which bills itself as “the leading international communications group for luxury, fashion and lifestyle brands“, is further expanding its services by absorbing Atelier Athem. The transaction would have cost several tens of millions of euros.

 

Founded in 1985, Atelier Athem has made a name for itself with its highly innovative business model, at the crossroads of advertising, culture and heritage. With its team of some forty employees, the French company creates unique and spectacular events for brands, in the form of ephemeral or permanent scenography (lighting or decorations for facades or streets, interactive content, sound experiences…).

 

Restoration of listed monuments

 

In doing so, it sometimes uses advertising to finance the restoration of listed monuments such as the Palais Garnier, the Louvre Museum, the Musée d’Orsay and the Hôtel de la Marine.
