The House of Martell demonstrates its exceptional expertise with the L’Or de Jean Martell – Réserve du Château collection. This latest creation highlights the French art of living and tradition.
Since 1715, the House of Martell has been a benchmark for spirits enthusiasts. Martell has been behind numerous exceptional bottles such as Martell XO, Martell Création Grand Extra, and L’Or de Jean Martell. Today, the oldest of cognac houses showcases its mastery through the exclusive collection L’Or de Jean Martell – Réserve du Château.
This new designation refers to limited edition blends (1,000 numbered pieces) created in partnership with prestigious French châteaux. Embracing the concept of heritage and tradition, Martell relies on the expertise of its Cellar Master, Christophe Valtaud, who inherits a savoir-faire perfected over nine generations by the House.
To obtain the most refined aromas, Valtaud carefully selects and blends over 1,400 eaux-de-vie sourced from the finest cognac terroirs. While the blending process alone demonstrates great skill, the aging of the L’Or de Jean Martell – Réserve du Château blends perfects the search for exceptional flavors. The cognac undergoes additional aging in unique casks. Crafted from 300-year-old oaks from France’s oldest forests, these barrels impart depth and rich complexity to the cognac. This crucial final step begins in the House’s historic cellar before moving to the celebrated château property.
